Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. LocalPDF runs entirely in your browser: files are read from your disk, processed on your device and saved straight back. Nothing is sent to a server, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with your internet connection switched off.

Will links, bookmarks and forms still work?

Yes. Links and bookmarks are re-pointed to their pages in the merged file, and form fields stay fillable. If two files have a field with the same name, the second is renamed so filling one doesn’t fill the other. Page labels and layers carry over too.

How many files can I merge?

There’s no fixed limit on files or pages. Everything happens in your browser’s memory, so the practical ceiling is your device; a few hundred pages is quick on any recent computer or phone.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Not yet. Encrypted PDFs are turned away with a message rather than producing a broken file. Remove the protection in your PDF reader first, then try again.
