LocalPDF

Your files never leave your device

Your files stay on your device

LocalPDF is a set of PDF tools that run entirely in your web browser. When you open a file, it is read from your disk, processed on your device, and saved straight back to your disk.

Your files are never uploaded. There is no server that receives them, stores them, or has a copy at any point. The site is built so that even if it tried to send a file somewhere, the browser would block it: the Content Security Policy allows connections only to the site itself.

No accounts, no tracking

There is no sign-up, no login, and no user account. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not build a profile of you or your documents.

The only measurement is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts aggregate page views without cookies and without fingerprinting you: it does not follow you across sites or store anything on your device. It never sees your files.

Because nothing is uploaded, we could not read your files even if we wanted to.

Works offline

Once a page has loaded, it keeps working with your internet connection switched off. A service worker stores the site and its codecs on your device so the tools remain available without a connection.

Anything you choose to remember, such as a saved signature, is kept in your own browser storage on your device and can be forgotten at any time.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files. Like most websites, the infrastructure that delivers those files may record basic technical information about requests, such as an IP address and the pages requested, for security and to keep the service running. This never includes the contents of your documents, because your documents are never sent.
