Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. LocalPDF runs entirely in your browser: files are read from your disk, processed on your device and saved straight back. Nothing is sent to a server, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with your internet connection switched off.
How do I write page ranges?
Separate items with commas. “1-3” is pages 1 to 3, “8-” runs from page 8 to the end, “-3” is the first three pages, and “last” stands for the final page. When extracting, pages come out in the order you list them.
Do links and bookmarks survive the split?
Links and bookmarks between pages you keep go on working. Ones that point at pages you left out are removed, so nothing leads to a missing page. Form fields, page labels and layers on the kept pages are carried over.
Why are the split files so small?
Each new PDF keeps only the fonts and images its own pages use, instead of every resource from the original document.
